Well went yesterday, was busy and a nice few boats.

As you come in the big marquee is missing and there was not a lot in this area.

Cross over the bridge to the middle sectiona and it was full 3 big marquees of gear usual people usual place.

Sunseeker in same place with the impressive stand.

On the water there was a lot to see but not as many as usual there were empty spaces.

worth going for half day, food expensive didnt see any bargains.

how is Cannes going on Nautical...

Ferretti, Pershing and Riva seems well ready, and those new Sessa are surely ultra modern
it is impressive what that that brand is doing
the 54 SportFly looks a nice boat

Visitors at Cannes

The show was definitely quieter Thursday and Friday ... I may not go today. S-seeker stand said 'disappointing' so far ... but many new models and lots to look at.

Show pics

MBM has started sticking up some photos from the show...

Check out the shot of the Silverton 45. Dickies has knocked the price down by £200,000.

If anyone has any special photo requests, let me know on email - stewart_campbell@ipcmedia.com - or just reply to this post (apologies for thread hijack).

There's a good feel to the show - probably something to do with the weather. Also interesting to hear lots of German, French and other European languages being spoken.

Yeah those Sessa's look really nice up close, my pictures don't do justice, the fly is just gorgeous.

Busy show here, lots of UK buyers around and most people are upbeat, I heard last night that two of the major Italian builders have done quite good business.

We have had a good show so far, maybe some bubbly flowing Monday evening :-)

Just bumped into a few Forum chums too

if English are buying Italian boats with the weak UK£ then it is really good buisness....

hope u r doing well too with your Outer Reef, and Molokai range of yachts
best of luck

Thanks PY, better than we expected for first proper show, one in the bag so far :-)

Not sure UK buyers are parting with cash but think quite a few have come down for a nice weekend in the SoF and to see lots more stuff than back home, certainly no empty berths or void spaces on the water, seems back to normal (ish) here as far as numbers are concerned. Nearly got pushed into the water waiting for the bridge to open yesterday evening with the Q waiting to get accross.

well done Nautical hope for more sucess to you

is it a Euro client or English one, I think you sold the first one in Dusseldorf to a Scandinavian guy or I am wrong

yes definitly SIBS is boring compared to Cannes and Genova, still sometimes I wonder how much the British buyers are ready to go out of the shadow of the big 3, UK£ or not...

Everything seems smaller this year - except the Nordhaven 55.

Weather on Saturday was magic. Good job there was plenty of hospitality available. Sorry we didn't get back the the IPC stand, Richard. Will try again on Thursday.

Some empty spaces on the pontoons - more obvious when we went past on the boat on Sunday.

Had a good look at the Sealine F46. Some good points - some not so good. Reverse berthing from the fly would be difficult as visibility restricted. Don't like the lack of second helm seat on fly.

Also had a good crawl over the Maritimo 48. Novel. No wonder they call it the Marmite boat. You either love it or hate it. Personally - I haven't made up my mind. They are about to introduce the open fly bridge version.

Got rather interested in the Moody 45. Must have had too much to drink by that time.

Have to check it out again on Thursday when No 2 son takes me.

Ugh? Now I'm really confused...

We called it the 'ugly' boat last year, but personally I really liked it but Jane hated it.

I thought it had a great hull design and use of space and based on a well proven U.S. fishing platform. Very expensive though!

also went on saturday and had a great day out. Parked at Leisure World for £6 and then only a few minutes walk to the entrance. Arrived at about 10.15am, no queues so straight in, but made a point of walking straight to the marina section and so was not overly busy when we got there.
Weather was great and had a good look round the Sealine boats, really like the SC models, although I know they aren't to everyones taste, and would love one as our next boat (SC29). Had a good walk round on the marina side and looked at loads of boats that we wouldn't normally bother with, due to price, size, styling etc being out of our range, and had some pleasant suprises. Was really impressed with the Linssen 34, and was even more impressed when they told us they do a 30ft model. Would now consider one of them as our next boat.
Went on the Nordhaven 55 - totally blew us away in terms of size and quality.
Took our own food there and was glad we did after seeing some of the prices being charged - actually went into MDL's club outlook lounge and was able sit there and eat our food.
Did notice that not as many boats on display compared to when we last went (2 years ago), and this was most obvious up on the section around by sunseeker. There was only a couple of other makes on display in that section and it had a very empty feel to it. It was only when we left that we realised that there was quite a few companies missing (or at least we didn't see them) - Bayliner / Doral / Maxum.

A very enjoyable day out, although we did notice that we were finished by 3pm, where as in the past we don't finish till 5/6pm.

We went on Sunday and it was the first time that we had gone to a show, as we are a bit new to boating. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and came away with a couple of bargains that far exceeded the best online price I could find. So by my reckoning, I actually saved money by going to the show ;)

The food prices took the proverbial though, but we did stumble accross a one star effort that did a sit down burger, chips and a coke for just over a fiver. Our stomachs seem OK, so it looks like we will live to tell the tale;)

A big dissapointment for me was having to book an appointment to look on some boats, so we didn't bother and just sweet talked ourselves onto a few :D

Definately will be going again next year and I am tempted to go again this Sunday.
