I have been given a spreadsheet that converts lateral shroud loadings obtained using a spring balance into tension in the wire. Please can anyone point me to a site that gives typical tension requirements for 1x19 wires in the range 5 - 8 mm? I have looked at several rigging company websites, Loos gauges, Selden, etc but none give any values. The most useful so far is Salty John's site but his values stop at 7 mm. I intend to compare the values obtained using this method with my own number-free method and will report back eventually.

I contacted loos direct as the sticker on the side of my 2nd hand rigging gauge was mostly rubbed off. They were very helpful, and offered to post me a new sticker, but the pic they sent was sufficient. Try them?

Yes it only went up to 7mm. I guesstimated the tension for 8mm by extending the curves...

15% of the breaking load of the wire is a commonly used number.

Have a look at this document from Selden http://www.seldenmast.com/files/595-540-E.pdf
You will find what you are looking for starting on page 28.
