Further to the post about washing out water tanks I think this is very important.A friend of a friend went shooting one saturday,he got very muddy and as he was at work after shooting, decided as it was saturday, he would go straight to work and use the Directors shower. What he didnt know was that the shower had not been used for sometime and he caught Legionaires disease. He is now seriously ill and will be lucky to recover. It seems that we must use our showers regularly by running seriously hot water through them.Probably holding your breath while you are in the shower cubicle doing it. !!

I think the risk is likely to be greater in communal facilities than in a boat, but in view of the post I will run pure hot water through from time to time. I tend to do this anyway when cleaning the shower compartment, in the hope that it will clear soapy residues from the drain pump.

Seems that above 60 C is safe so maybe check your thermostats.
