I have just spoken to the very helpful guys at ITT who are servicing my failed shower sump pump. Apparently the seals and valves in the pump were distorted. They suggest that this "might" be due to detergents/showergels which if left in contact with the rubber deform it.
The "solution" to this is to run fresh water through the pump after use. Ok, I'll do that - and share the advice with you guys.
But I am a bit miffed that a a "shower" drain pump is sensitive to these soaps (not mentioning the fact that a repair will be 75% the cost of a new pump... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif) does this mean thay are not fit for purpose?
You have been warned guys: remember to rinse off properly after a shower...
