Hi, I have a Westerly Falcon and thinking of installing a shower unit in the cockpit primarily for washing kids down after a day on the beach etc. Any advice on best way to approach this? Want something that will be discreet when not in use but easy to access.

I'm thinking hot &cold....though might tell the kids its cold only :)

I have something similar to this. Lay it in the sun on the cabin top while the kids are on the beach, When they retun you have a bag of warm water ready.

Can be stowed discreetly when not in use.

We have a cold shower in the cockpit which I used regularly for rinsing the kids when they were younger. I did lay in the pipe work to make it hot & cold but never got around to fitting the mixer tap. Anyway, it was always more fun to use cold on the kids... I don't think they have forgiven me yet! :)

Hi
A few boats ago, I had a bayliner 2255 cabin cruiser. She didn't have running water and I always liked a shower to freshen me up in the morning when staying on the boat.
I bought a 12v (powered off cigar lighter socket) camping shower for around £15 off eBay. With this all I had to do was boil a small kettle of water on the stove, add it to a half full bucket and stick the wee suction end of the 12v shower into the bucket.
I then hung the shower head up on the frame of the canopy and pressed the switch. Bingo, warm shower and would last a good few minutes.
The bayliner had a self draining cockpit, which helped.
Go onto eBay and search for 12v portable shower, you will get the idea.
Hope that helps.
