Does anyone know where I can buy a new hose for the tap/shower unit I bought in Italy a few years ago?

It is about 1.5mtrs long with a 1/2" female knurled nut on one end and a male threaded fitting the other end. All I can find are with female knurled nuts on both ends.

Maybe someone can point me to a chandlery in Italy where I can look at tap/shower products.

The type you describe sounds like the type that I have. My replacement came from Mailspeed who got it from ECS. I also got a spare in case of future hassle.

I will be going down to the boat this evening and could have a look at the part number if that is going to help. If you want me to do this call me on 07973264485.

Yup had the same problem Alan17 is right it is ECS who have the hose you want but dont deal with you direct (it must be a secret or something ) you have to go thru your local swindler. Forget the part number. The problem with adaptors is they are too big too pass thru your tap fitting.

What you need is a 'brass double male nipple with hexagonal shoulder with a 1/2" BSP thread'

Any plumbers merchant will sell you one, should be change from £2.00

(maybe Lakesailor has a photo of one !!!!)

what you need then is a brass (or plastic if you can find one) 1/2" running nipple.

There are other hose/tap combinations that are rare so 1/2 x 3/4 reducing nipples are often a solution with a 1/2 or 3/4 socket - the trouble is the overall effect is often a piece of modern art fabricated from fitting. "Proper" plumbers merchants who care should be able to order ANY combination of shower hose end fitting, on any length and style and colour of hose. But you may have to wait until they have a viable order before they can supply you (at a "good price").
