Shower draining to bilges?

We may have stains on our hull from sink drain exits. I may find out in a week or 2 when she comes out, but all that is normally hidden. So my solution is to add a pair of amas to your boat.

Does anyone know of some sort of tray or sump that has a pump built in that can pump straight over the side that doesn't have any form of trap?

I think you would need a Jabsco type pump coupled to the drain outlet and exiting via an above waterline loop to an above waterline outlet, with a switch so it runs when you shower. Mine are like this but the shower/WC drains to a holding tank with the pump on the exit, accessible for maintenance, and only run to empty the tank. Having a pump built into a tray or shower base sounds like an access nightmare.

The thing to watch is minimising the amount of standing water in pipes (or tanks) which starts to smell of its own accord after a week or so. Fine when used daily.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm sure that you mean the shower in the WC, rather than the "shower/WC".
Mine, presumably the same, has the galley sinks, the WC basin and shower well, all draining into the "Grey Tank", which is pumped overboard.

Correct - WC separate!

My point was its easier to have decent access to things like pumps. Getting at shower tray drains is hard enough without adding electrics and pumps into the mix. Although my waste pumps seem original and still going strong after 35 years.
