I bought one of those Lidl smoke alarms. It works OK but makes a continuous hissing noise. Should it?

Wish I knew - my store(s) locally sold out!
However, the fire extinguishers in the store turned out to be 2kg ones instead of 1kg ones - for the same price of £4.99! - Bargain!

Bought 2 of Lidls fire extinguishers 2yrs ago and they are still in ok shape. Also bought a water level alarm - the ones with a bit of tape looping down. It didnt like being immersed in salt bilge water when close hauled, in a chop , even with the innards coated in vaseline.
Have a spare I can drop onto the mounting screws when at anchor if Im feeling paranoid !!

Need a new one? Contact your local fire station. They will be able to give you fire safety advice, check your alarms and fit new ones if required, free of charge. I was going to say the crew would enjoy a look around your boat, but just noticed it's in Turkey... mmm, bet they'd still like a look around? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
