Should I report this accident?

I had a bit of a boaty accident on Sat afternoon, I was coming down the ladder off the boat (ashore), slipped missing the last three steps! As I fell backwards, I had the natural reaction and stuck out my hand to break the fall. Result big time gravel rash across the palm of my hand and wrist, hell it burned!

Now I nead some guidance, as a boat was involed and a collision with land, plus personal injury, should it be reported under the terms of the Merchant Shipping act 2004? What are the penalties if I don't and the CCTV at the marina picks it up and I get reported, should I consult a solicitor?

Sue God for giving you the wrong instincts but don't report it to the MCA. The Government has bowed to RYA pressure and are withdrawing the 'gold plated' reporting regulations. Yachts under 15m don't need to report accidents and incidents.

Sue the government for making you worry about it.....

On further thought, projecting current trends forward, by 2021 everyone in the UK will work for the government, so we could all sue everybody.....yipeeeee

Addendum.... my personal finance manager (SWMBO) says that I work 40% of the time for the government already.....
