Shotley Camera

If Foxs WiFi travelled more that 5 yds you might be able to log-on to that :D

I recently gave them a directional antenna (which now points from the harbourmasters hut to roughly where your berth is) so you should be better off when you are back in the water.
There is always someone nearby who has a 'proper' wifi system set up onboard you may be able to piggy back on to if not :D

At Bradwell we now have two webcams on each pontoon and one on the tower. Jabbakam system. No public access though and you only get to look at the pontoon where your boat is. You can add your own camera on your boat.

Yet to try the wifi but I believe this also from the same new posts on each pontoon so sounds promising.

Spoke to the staff in the office on Saturday apparently they are having a new site produced but not by the people that did the old one hence old one switched off.

I've rarely had a problem with the wifi.

Was down on the boat friday to sat this weekend, and was online with no problems from down below with an internal wifi adaptor on a laptop

I suspect you may be getting a better signal Neil, being at the posh end.

We were onboard Saturday and it worked fine, another day it just won't work at all and i have to use my mobile.

I would concur with that. On H it is there one minute albeit weak then disappears sometimes for some time. Have tried various options to overcome this to no avail so have a dongle which is a bit of a shame given there is supposed to be wifi access.

Some folks have depth some folks have wifi :)

You can help yourselves with wifi access by getting something to improve your signal gathering capabilities.
Most laptops will not pick up signals from a long way off.
If you want the best option, a wifi system on board can be set up.
Basically this is:
omnidirectional aerial -> access point -> router
The aerial will pick up signals from much further away and the router will mean you don't have to cower in the cockpit trying to get 'line of sight' access.
We have this system on board and it has worked for some while at various marinas.
Nowadays, you
You need to ensure as short a run as possible from the aerial to the access point or use ultra low loss cable so you still get a decent signal strength.
You can get one unit that combines the access point and router and just plug an aerial in one side.
Don't forget to password protect your router as your neighbours will probably be able to pick up your onboard signal.
Failing that, badger the marina staff into getting a further wifi access point down your end of the marina to improve coverage.
