Im a foreigner and wonder about shortenings. Can anybody give the meanings of them. For example SWMBO, IMHO and so on.

These are abbreviations - somewhere on these forums is a long list but the more usual ones are:

SWMBO - She Who must be Obeyed (wife/girlfriend etc)
IMHO - In My Humble Opinion
IIRC - If I Recall Correctly
