Middle son and I have been granted leave by respective spouses and are planning on sailing tomorrow. The plan is, leave Maldon at height of the flood tomorrow (Sunday) morning, gentle sail down river with the ebb and visit the Buxey sands for a stroll. No dinghy so planning to run boat ashore (Mk2 24 Cornish Crabber, 2’ draft with the plate up). Arrive at the Buxey an hour or so before low water, short stroll as my son has never been there, clamber back on boat as tide comes in and back up the Blackwater to arrive with the tide. Wind forecast will blow us off.
Winds look good, not a lot of water (neapish). Does this sound feasible? Only ever been to the Buxey once for the cricket and anchored off and used a dinghy. Bigger boat then, and sold dinghy with her.
Any thing I need to know? Stupid things I’ve forgotten.
