Short cut to med

Hello
After reading "small boat in the med" August issue. I am interested in finding out more about the short cut into the Med from Bordeaux to Sete. Would I have to step my mast? What are the fees? Where do I find info on the rivers and canals
Your imput would be very much appreciated as I am taking my Legend 28 to the Med in September

Mast stepping is about £25 each end . Allow about 10 days for passage. Max draught is 1.5m - remember you'll draw about 10cm more in fresh water. You need an ICC qulification to use inland waterways in France. See http://www.canal-du-midi.org/english/index.htm

Beware!
The french canals use to be closed some time in the summertime, and, due to the drought, which is sever this year, the depth of some stretches may be reduced.
