Hello,

Electrical plugs and charger are not working in my boat.
When connected to a 220v shore power the 230v panel looks like this...

Has anyone seen this before? I was also expecting the "shorepower" light to be on, no? Looked for manuals and nothing, not on the web and boat manual is useless and previous owner (in fact still the owner) has no clue.

When i turn any switch on, voltage goes to zero.
With the "AC PLUGS 1" switch on, the plugs get power on both connectors when I check them with a power phase test screwdriver.

Just trying to understand what is going on while waiting for a technician... maybe neutral is missing?...

Thank you for any help!

Is the shore power box working correctly. Others ok ? Can you swap to other outlet that is known good ?

Does boat have generator ? If so what happens ?

Have you checked cable connections and also checked the main breaker which is usually near the inlet. Do you have an isolation transformer ? They have breakers also

You don’t say the boat. If you tell us that someone may know where all the breakers etc are.

Given any load puts volts to zero the voltage shown is something very low current.

Start with the post supplying shorepower.
Find a table lamp or something similar, plug it into the post & check, work back into the boat.

That looks like a corroded connection, either in one of the plugs, or perhaps the cable itself.

Unplug the shorepower, open up the connectors & make sure everything is clean & tight.

Cheers,

Hello, the boat is a 2012 Leader 10. It does not have a generator.
I already checked the main breaker and at it's exit there is already power in the power (brown) and neutral (blue) cables so the problem seems to be before that. I also checked the shorepower plug sockets and they seemed fine.
So far, it seems to be either the post, inside the cable or from the boat socket to the main breaker... Is there anything in between the plug and the main breaker?
I don't know if it has a insolation transformer, sorry jrudge ...
I will do what starfire suggested, starting in the shorepower post and going into the boat. I will take bulb and a multimeter and see what happens... this is sad as everything else works except tv and microwave that only work with shorepower. The previous owner did not even notice this (he is honest and it is in the contract that if anything is not ok he will fix it).
Best regards

Shore power will also power the battery charger so he will have noticed ...
I had that feeling in the back of my mind... but he is really a "disconnected" guy.
The important news is IT IS FIXED!
It was the converter from 16A to 32A plug that had a disconnected cable. DISCONNECTED was not broken...
Guilty guy!

Now it looks like this and everything is working, including satelite tv (i confess i was not expecting this one not to work...)
