I'm about to connect shore power to my boat. I've got the option from the marina of £x per day, £xxxxxx per week!!! or using a meter - they will then charge me per unit.

Anyone have any ideas where I can get a meter from? I've tried searching various swindlers but either I'm looking for the wrong thing in the search engines or they don't sell them.

Any help would be appreciated.

You mean one of these?

You can buy them here:

MDL at QAB marina will sell you one for the same price, or a 16m metered cable for about £170.

They occasionally come up 2nd hand - have you tried eBay?

I bought the meter lead from MDL whenI berthed at Chatham. When I was about to leave to go to Spain I put a notice on the office board and sold it at a small loss.

Bought a Metermaid earlier this year on eBay for £70. It was checked out by the marina, and found to be in perfect working order.

Someone is about to sell a meter for £65 in the For Sale forum - quick ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There are a variety of Din rail mounted miniature Kwh meters that could be mounted next to your main CB. A lot less than £170!

I know of one that provides both a display and a pulses output for the tinkerers to monitor with a PC or something!
