I’m looking for a neat (preferably flush) shore-power inlet that isn’t going to need making big holes in the cockpit other than the size of the adaptor circumference

Marinco make a smart S/S one but have flat pins instead of round – and seems you need to buy adapters etc to plug in.

Does anyone have any recommendations

Thanks
Frank

I went for the whole Marenco set up from Merlin and don't regret it. It's not cheap but IMHO it's not worth compromising on quality for a shore power inlet. I had one of the cheap plastic ones before but it soon cracked.

Mine has a waterproofing ring/seal in the cap that blanks it off and the locking ring for the electrical connector.... and is therefore installed on the transom, above the bathing platform..... where, actually it doesn't tend to get wet, but would be OK if it did...

Of course there are nice Marine items that can be handsomely priced. And of course there is the local Caravan Shop where a wider range of items is generally available. They have flush mounted, box mounted with and without sealing rings or covers.
We've had a number of boats and fitted the weather protected caravan sockets / plugs and never had any trouble over many years. Not only that but they have ready made leads and conversion leads at economic prices that make DIY leads unnecessary.

Another vote for the caravan shop bought variety about £15 I seem to remember.

I have a flush fitting inlet with sealing ring fitted out of the way in the cockpit positioned so that the cable is not a hazard either.
