Shore Power Connetion

At the moment i have a shore power connection fitted in Germany,Its a 2 pin socket thing(id post a pic if i was clever enough)anyway,can anybody tell me what type of socket i will need in good old blighty?

Sorry, that's the shore end, it's male as you thought, the boat end is female, lower down the web page.

You can buy a polarity checker for about £10 in any good electrical suppliers. They normally have three little dots and if everything is ok you get 3 green dots. If there is a fault it tells you what the fault is. It plugs straight into a 3 pin socket ( square pin).

[/ QUOTE ]Oh dear, better tell all the marinas I have been in they have their plugs and sockets mixed up - not to mention all the boat owners.

Recepticle on the shore is "female" - no exposed pins
Plug that fits the recepticle is "male" (shore end of lead) - pins but not live until inserted into the recepticle
Boat end of lead is "female" - no exposed pins
Receptical on boat is "male" - pins but not live until the boat end of the cable is connected.
