Does anyone know if Shipsides Marine [UK] Ltd of New Hall Lane, Preston are still trading?

About a month ago I ordered a new chain pipe from their website http://www.boatandmarinesafety.co.uk/ and got an order confirmation etc.

It hasn't turned up and they aren't answering my e-mails and the phone is just ringing.

Anyone round that way know anything about them?

Thanks

Paul

Hi, I would imagine they are still going. They didn't 'seem' to be in any trouble when they sorted out o/b about a month ago. They are very hard to reach by phone though. I belive there is often only one man in the shop who dosn't answere the phone is hes not stood next to it. I got into the habit of phoneing them everytime i walked past the phone at home (early trading hours seemed to work best), and occastionaly, i would get through! The 'boss man' there, Mr Shipside (yes, thats his name, nomanatice predeterminisam parhaps?), seems to be a decent bloke.

Bill Shipside sold the business a few years ago.

I've driven past a few times recently and its been closed - new hall lane is one of the less desirable areas of Preston so the armoured shutters are down.

I've tried contacting them a while ago and did get through after a struggle - illness was blamed and as someone else has commented - the chap seems to be on bis own. It did have that 'business in decline' feel to it.

There is a small chandlery at Garstang at Bridge House Marina if that helps. Otherwise its Mailspeed at Warrington, Preston Marina, Glasson or Windermere

Cross Mailspeed off your list they have gone as well

Also Bridgehouse Marina at Garstang. We were walking along the canal and happened upon it, as well stocked as anything on Windermere. Particularly for the more domestic elements of boating, was not looking for the yachty bits.

Thanks all for the replies, I am based on the south coast hence the question.

Looks like it's now been answered for me as the online shop has now been suspended - draw from that what you will...

Think I'll talk to my credit card company.
