The suppliers I've tried so far won't ship abroad and I want to get 2 x 2.5litres of International antifoul to Spain as it's an arm and a leg locally and carrying it as hand luggage is not an option!

Does anyone know of a supplier who will ship paint abroad?

Be careful: some paints are dangerous cargo if you take it by air.

If not hazardous cargo, bring along an empty suitcase, pay the 10 GBP for the baggage fee and done.

Cheap skate! :D:D

10 GBP! When did you last fly Ryanscare? :)

I have no intention of flying with it but I would ship it by courier if necessary. I would rather the supplier shipped direct than have it delivered in the UK and then having to repackage it and courier it out to the boat.

Think you will find nobody will ship paint from UK. One of the reasons why the prices can be kept high in other countries - even when the manufacturer/supplier is the same.

Yup, most paints fall under UN 1263 "paint related material" and is hazardous under class 3, Flammable liquids.

It will be expensive to ship it as it will need to be packed, marked, labled and documented as such and then there is the "haz goods" surcharge that many companies apply.

Empuriabrava

There is an antique dealer in Jalon who imports English antiques into Spain, he makes regular trips back and forth.
I have used him several times to bring stuff out for me when he has room in his van and he charges very little, its all very casual and I doubt he would worry too much what he carried as long as its boxed up well.
What about trawling some of the Spanish forums, (Trip Advisor would be a good start) to see if anyone is driving out who could bring the paint in their car for you? Probably wrong time of the year for much response.

Might be limited quantities, if packed in seperate boxes.

Might even be worth renewing my DGSA and ADR tickets, if there is some real boodle to be made
