Shippin costs

A friend aked me if i knew anyone who has moved a boat from the east coast (Southwold) to mid france by truck he has been quoted £3500 and he thinks that is expensive, I told him it cost me £650 to get my F330 from penton hook to Lowestoft, and £3500 didnt sound to bad, but i will ask the question on here, his boat is a 34ft steel cruiser.

Hello Paul,

At those prices it may be worth a sea delivery trip. Depending on where the boat has to go in France. I have done the trip a few times, I may be able to help out.

i last did this by road with 42 footer in 2002. Sounds right/fair to me. There's a ferry fare, a bit of customs clearance, driver nights away from home to cover. I can't see a business being too profitable if they do it for much less than that

Thats what i thought the cost sound fair to me, not sure if a sea delivery would cost, the location is south west of leon he lives in the that area and want to keep it on the cannal

That sounds about right for a quote with a proper boat movement company who will have the correct trailers, pads etc etc and will respect the load.
