I have bought a Shipmate Mk 1, an early one with blue gel coat cabin and decks,and would like to hear from other owners. I have not sailed it yet, as need to find a boom. I believe they were claimed to be self righting, I am a bit surprised, as there is only a metal centreplate, which doesn't seem that heavy. I wondered how you get to the foredeck for jib/anchor handling, as there is no forehatch, and the sidedecks are very narrow, with no handrail. I will be fitting handrails and better nonslip paint anyway, already almost went in from the foredeck!
