Shiplake pump out is fixed...

A leBoat will be along in a minute with a packet of wet wipes.

Why don't the EA carry spares? What could be simpler than a pump for god sake?

Who said it was a pump ? Could just as easily be the card reader or some other component. Also Shiplake is not connected to mains drainage as far as i know so pumping out the pump out can be an issue.

Hmm - I asked the previous resident about the sewerage arrangement and was assured that it was indeed connected to main drainage. Looking at the physical situation (levels et al) and queried it - still the answer was 'main drainage'. Interesting.

The problem with EA pumpout repairs (ignoring that 'customers' treat the equipment with contempt) is that EA want a single contractor to do everything required - including the pump outs.
LeeSan offered to do that work (which they do anyway when it gets complicated) but EA declined.

After all it's only the 'customer' who suffers.

Edit: I asked LeSan how their kit dealt with wet wipes and they replied that their pumps were peristaltic - so no problem. It's the jeans and jackets that cause the problems, but how do you get either of those down the pipe??
