Took these today. Seems similar to last year, although the lagoon seems to have extended south. It now has a muddy bottom at the southern end.

I just hope I can outwit this chuffin' hostile forum software & get the pics in the post:livid:

A pox on this software's houses.:disgust: The uploader says that the files (taken with a simple Canon Compact camera, FFS) are too large! The only one that it says isn't too big just appears in the post as a load of hyoglyphics GRRR. What a godawful piece of software!

Unless someone can simplify this I'm going to have to give up.
Sorry.

Blimey - it's uploaded the only one that was not too big! Mind you it gave no indication that it was going to do this. What a pile of poo!

Very clear pic thanks. Very similar to this time last year as you say. I also have a Canon (Power shot A3100 IS ) which is probably old and redundant. Whatever you did obviously worked. Lets hope its an easy 'bar' this year.

Yebbut, that one only shows the view to the SW, it doesn't show the entrance!

I've got a series of 6 that show the complete view from SW thorough E to NE, but this *^)(+£"?@{#¦`€ forum software won't allow me to post them!

Humm might one ask what size you are shooting your pics at; most internet systems have a max limit per person to avoid overloading the system.

Bet you would not notice the results on here if you de tuned your pix rate

Just a thought full comment

Thank you Rudolph (and Moody Sabre) for this educational contribution. I shall, as usual, defer any visit to the Orford River until a survey has been performed, the buoys are in position and a helpful chartlet is published by those great guys at East Coast Pilot.

sailorman: thanks for the instructional screenshot (which I've filed for future ref)
moodysabre: thanks for doing the work.

Everyone else:
1. Logically these should be viewed in Reverse order.
2. Some of these were taken from the edge of the southern lagoon (almost feet wet!)
3. Some of the lagoon shots edge were zoomed to show the entrance from 'seaward-ish'

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the photos - the power of the seas to create these amazing natural structures and in one storm redesign them, we're completely at the mercy of some wave action depositing a load of shingle and nearly blocking a river entrance or digging it away and opening a new one. Speaking of which, what's the situation at Slaughden, has the gap narrowed further this winter?
