Non tidal Thames, just upstream of Wallingford.
Beautiful situation, good mooring, inc' depth.
Food not bad, but service abysmal in all areas.
Won't go again until it changes.

Part of Forestdal Hotel Group.

We went there last summer in previous boat and did find the food matched the service............

The setting is wonderful and struck us as a wasted opportunity. Found excellent value cafe style food at the nearby Benson Cruiser Station although not nearly as nice a place to stay.

I feel myself getting rather sentimental about our old Thames haunts

Can't agree with you about Benson I'm afraid. Stopped there for breakfast this summer and found nboth food and service left much to be desired. Not many punters but still waited ages. Sausages were cremated and highly spiced, not at all nice, and I'm sure so called butter wasn't. Shan't go there again.

Last year Benson was good and sorry that it may have gone off

Or perhaps it seemed a bit below par after your previous Cliveden stop.... :-)
