She's afloat!

Hi all, I been quite quiet the last 2 or 3 weeks - due to working.

I ended up buying Jane, a 1940's circa Classic Norfolk Broads yacht; after getting her surveyed I spent a few 12hour+ days working away on her. Masticking, tar varnishing, anti-fouling and sanding and yesterday managed to get her in the water.

Such a great feeling ... Now I just gotta wait for her to take-up then the worlds my oyster (well Broads actually..)

Indeed, ordered from amazon (no pun intended) - to read to my children (honest )

...strange how it is that when reading a review it states that the 2 main characters went to stay with a friend of their mums - a Mrs Barrable - it happens to be my last name too

I still do occasionally, and Swallows and Amazons was even the pick of John Sargeant this morning on the esteemed R4 'a good read'.... if its good enough for that dancing legend, then its good enough for me!
