I am wanting to put a shelf in a fridge ( opens from top). I want to attach a runner on which the basket can slide along. the fridge is made of stainless steel. What is the best way to attach it - glue ( and if so what glue for for fridge temps) or some other way?

thanks
sam

You obviously can't weld. Pop rivets or self tapping screws seem dodgy to me - unless you can seal the holes properly. I don't think glues would work.
My preference would be to make up a frame that hangs from the top or sits on the bottom. Made up of small section angle it need not take up much of the fridge.

I came across a 3M brand double backed tape some time back. It was incredibly strong, apparently used in aircraft inidustry. Im sure it would work and would be clean and easily applied.

If its a nice smooth surface you could try suction cups with hooks as used in showers and with the buckets for handhelds that attach to cockpit surfaces. Removable for cleaning and readjusting.
