sheet to tiller steering

I have been playing with this for a while

running the bungees along the side deck has transformed the system for me

three blocks, some string, two bungees

anyone else had a go?

Yes, I had a few goes using the main and genoa sheets to tiller. When the wind is steady I can make it work but when it is gusty I have a bit of a problem with having to adjust it constantly. How does your system behave in gusty conditions? it appears that you are using the gib only.

I had a much more basic set up on my snapdragon. It worked really well close hauled but was a bit iffy otherwise. I quite fancy making my own steering vane one day. If its good enough for Blondie...

in light winds I put it straight to the boom

in heavier winds it goes to the main sheet

the wind was pretty constant in strnegth - but changing direction

when the wind is stronger the boat self steers on thw wind right through to a broad reach

never succeeded gioing straight down wind though
