Anybody familiar with above boat, interested in peoples thoughts.
One for sale near me with completely over hauled engine, plus new rigging.
1972 model asking price £15000

The "family" version of the highly regarded SHE31, with a higher coachroof. I had one for several years. Very well built and sails beautifully, esp. to windward, a real thoroughbred, but can be a bit wet in a seaway.
The rudder is not balanced, and can be a bit hard-mouthed on a fast reach. The large genoa can be hard work if short-tacking.
Shedeck is usually in poor cosmetic condition, decks are balsa core, so watch that.
Limited space below due to overhangs and narrow beam. Depends on ballast for stability, rather than beam, so takes up an early initial heel.
I'd have thought £15K was near top dollar in to-day's market, but depends on condition and equipment, S&S design seems to attract a premium though.
What engine is it?
Should add, also a looker!
