Shaping anode for Volvo saildrive and Ambassador rope stripper

I have a Volvo SD120 saildrive and fitted to it is an Ambassador rope stripper.

As Pre-cut anodes to accommodate the rope-stripper are quite a price hike on a standard one, I wondered if anyone has a template or measurements for making the necessary changes to a standard anode. Thanks

Just modified my new anode for next season this afternoon about 40 minutes work with a drill, hacksaw and files. It helps to have a good metal workers vice to hold the anode. I used the old one as a pattern.

It’s a similar story for a Yanmar SD50. Quite a price hike for drilling an extra hole for the Ambassador Stripper. I tend to buy anodes 3 at a time. I carefully measured the original and drill the extra hole.

I have made the necessary mods, getting the correct position for the hole is the hardest part. A pedestal drill helps a lot.
You can buy from Zincsmart, with the modification. Very reasonable price.

Also used an existing one as template. Then have a set of files ready at fitting time to do the fine tuning until it fits. Zinc is soft and quick to file off.
