Hi All
I have a dripless shaft seal made by Hymec, which I'm trying to remove so I can inspect my prop shaft.
The only documentation I have for it is an A4 sheet with a fairly poor diagram and an obsolete German 'phone number:
http://www.yachtasylumseeker.org/hymec.tif
It has a circlip at the gearbox end, with some kind of rubber flange behind. At the other end are six allen screws which have corroded to the extent that I can only remove one of them without drilling.
Can anyone advise me:
> How to remove the fecker (I've removed the circlip and it still won't shift)?
> Where I can get better documentation/diagram?
> Is it worth trying to save it or should I replace it (it doesn't drip)
> If I should replace it, what with (it's a 30mm shaft)
> Or should I just leave it where it is?
Thanks in advance
Dave
