Shaft anode, problem fitting

I've been trying to find a shaft anode to fit my yanmar ysb8, from the details I have it suggests the shaft is 3/4 inches diameter this is usually equivalent to 19mm the problem is I have tried a 19mm it is ever so slightly too small and a 22mm is too big. I can't find anything in between. Has anyone else had this problem and would it be ok to drill out or file a 19mm to fit the shaft?

I would use the 19 mm anode. Bolt it on tight. As long as it is making good electrical contact with the shaft it will do the job.

Use the 19mm. Tighten it and then tap it with a hammer, tighten it again and tap it etc etc it's standard procedure when fitting a shaft anode. Tighten, tap, tighten tap then the bugger doesn't come loose and batter the P bracket!

Go to <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.asap-supplies.com>http://www.asap-supplies.com</A> and key in pn. 812401 you will find your 3/4" shaft anode at £7.42 + VAT retail.
Even if you have probably already bought one I know that I would be happier with the correct item in such a relatively inaccessable position.
I know that goes against the grain for us Scots but just grin and bear it.

Put the anode on the shaft, tighten the bolts, then hit each half smartly and simultaneously with a pair of hammers. Keep doing this until you cannot tighten the bolts any more. This is the recommended method to ensure that the anode does not fall off or revolve in service.
