Logged in three times now, wrote a whole complicated post and it told me I wasn't looged in, lost the will to try again, may try tomorrow.

eBay and my mail server don't do this to me, even on my dodgy Spanish web connection.

You will be logged out if you take a long time composing a post but if you have the "remember me", or what ever it is, box ticked on the log in page you should be automatically be logged in again when you submit the post.

Because the system does fail from time to time its a good idea to compose a long reply in a simple word processor or to merely copy it to your clipboard. ( select and ctrl C ) then when it does go tits up you can just paste it in to a new reply box.

SWMBO has a tendency to press Ctrl instead of Shift resulting in random operations, most of which involve the disappearance of the long email or post she just typed. I got round the problem by installing Textarea Cache which allows her to recover lost work. We are on Firefox; I don't know if there is an equivalent for other browsers.

Textarea cache is great - saves anything you type into a forum post every 20 seconds or so so you can recover it.

There is a similar addon called Lazarus for Chrome - I've not used it.

If you are running Firefox, load and use the Add-On called Lazarus and also Textarea. Both for differing occasions but Lazarus is the more used.

You will never lose typing again. :)
