A mate of mine has a nic 32,a classic cruiser but absolutly usless for err nooky as the focsle berths are dificult to get in to and the saloon berths are singles. The modern 32 foot probably has at least one double berth if not two which may account for the developement of the flat wide sterns of modern racer/cruisers

Your mate is sadly lacking in, either or both, agility and imagination!

Be that as it may he asked me about building a double berth in the focsle but it all seemed a bit complicated. From what I can see its a sea going boat for wuffy tough sailors designed and built before the idea of taking your opposite numer with you occured which lead to abominations like galleys down one side with no place to crash out on the starboard tack.I have not asked about his "ARRANGEMENTS" and further discussion on the matter came to a halt!

The Nic 32 design may be venerable but it doesn't quite hark back to the days of rum, sodomy and the lash. Does not the saloon table offer a suitable support for your mate's libidinous activities?

I could pass on the suggestion, alright fro a passionate scuffle but all night?

On my CO32 the saloon table can be lowered and incorporated into the port saloon bunk or opened out to form a bridge between port and starboard bunks and thus create a full beam king size bed. Considering everything else on the boat is suited to Jeremy Roger's stature, this design feature must have been accidental!

I agree completely. That's why we designed our entire boat around this.

Many years ago, the French magazine Voiles et Voiliers did an article on boats and their suitability for ... yunno...

Was discussing merrits of boats with mum whilst looking for present boat. The want for a double bed was mentioned. Mums response was why? your dad and I manged on our Midshipman (14' long ).
I quickly changed the subject...

Well why did you not put a mirror on the ceiling .

To quote a well known lady brokerage MD, discussing a Swan48

"Sex on boats hadnt been invented when this boat was designed"
Think my mother would disagree :D:D:D:D

Said friend should sail towards the sun. When warm enough I lustily recommend that an upturned rubber dinghy, slightly deflated, provides an excellent platform on which to perform, especially whilst underway and under the stars.
