SEVERE GALE Warning

OOps! Glad I put the security chains on to the pontoon then. Thought it was getting a bit windy on the sea front. Looking over to Ryde there's some significant white horsey bits out there already.

That\'s going to limit my weekend sail

Thames SE 10 at the moment!

At this rate we will be staying in the river, and wondering about getting to the pub by dinghy!

Re: That\'s going to limit my weekend sail

30-40 knots between Chimet & Bramble atm - checked the boat though - sitting loverly ... did register 26knots on the windgauge as a gust - so nicely protected! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif didn't stop me from adding a second bow line though (she is in a marina and the wind is blowing her off the pontoon - saves on fenders!!)

Re: That\'s going to limit my weekend sail

Well - my other boat is sitting on its trolley exposed to anything other than a Northerly... but it is tied down and rode out the last "storm" when her neighbour decided to join her in her spot ... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ... I believe the little tenders are doing fine /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sat in Emsworth Yacht Harbour on the boat and it even in the yacht harbour we've got 32 knots - crew have reported seasickness on the dock! - chimet says 51knots - glad I'm in here

So with a big tide and the wind behind it you should have some interesting spray coming over the wall there tonight! With a southerly, the best pontoon will be B or C.

Mine's swinging at the top end of Itchenor, I put a second bow line on, hope she's alright, can't get there until tomorrow, have to attend the first of the company xmas do's tonight. Would rather be near the boat. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I bet Chichester entrance was interesting on the ebb this afternoon.

Emsworth reply: yes C pontoon!!!! Hence the reduced windspeed compared to chimet. But I am port to on the west side - so we are pinned against the fenders/finger!
