Well the Oxford Ditch laying up supper at the Shillingford Bridge Hotel went off very well last night (Friday). Grub was OK and the company convivial.
Several Forumites in attendance also several Lurkers. The Wussers came by car (Brayman, Uncle Albert) but some had come by boat.
All in all not a bad night. The next do is the Christmas one at the Home Sweet Home near Benson. First time we have been there so its suck it and see with the grub.
 
Decided not to go by boat as the red boards were up on our route…though Mike did and made it ok with about a foot to spare as he passed through the bridge at Wallingford…….so after booking in we spent the afternoon on his boat and gave his drinks locker a good hiding….

The room was quite nice …I particularly liked the 42 inch plasma on the wall…..the phone in the lav and the jaccussi and butler service was a nice touch….

Good do as always …met more new people all very easy company and the food and service were first class ……..I`ve noticed though that there seems to be a clique forming….led by Byron and my missus they can be seen huddling outside talking in hushed voices with an occasional burst of inane laughter from inside a cloud of cigarette smoke….

Had a great nights sleep and rising early amused myself relaxing in the Jaccussi looking out over the lawns to the moorings …through the freezing fog I could just make out Mike chipping the ice from his flying bridge

Just half a dozen residents for breakfast ….I couldn`t decide whether to have English or continental…so I had both.

On checking out Swmbo gave the lad on reception a good bollocking about the lack of any outside heating for the smokers….I didn`t have the heart to tell her the lad didn`t have any English.

I should have added that I took a leak behind a bush and was caught exposed by several club wives. I apologised profusely and Uncle Albert's Missus said to Brayman's Missus "I always wondered what I real one looked like" to which she replied "my Ian was once nicked for indecent exposure but the case was thrown out for lack of evidence" /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Depending what the grub is, might be best to take the teeth along and give it a chew /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I would like to but i have looked up the dates, it's Uncle Albert's turn to wear the teeth that day. We had hoped to have a false set each by now but increased licence fees have taken the money.
 
YUSSAH! Gordon is still there, he and his ex-missus are moving to Devon soon. I never quite understood his relationship with her. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
