I think it is time for a complete strip down, service and calibration of my injector pumps.
The engines are 15 years old and are faultless with about 450 hours on the clock. I have been advised by one engineer that the pumps could benefit from an overhaul simply because of their age and by another who thinks that the internal seals could need replacing as they 'weep' a little fuel which is obviously undesirable.
My philosophy has always been to maintain something properly to prevent problems so that it why I am toying with the idea of having this task done.
Has anyone got any recommendations or experiences of this work, can anyone comment on how much trouble this might be to do.
Any contacts around the midlands area?
My engines are Ivecos with mechanical pumps.
