Following the thread:- Chandlery Rip-Offs: your best examples
How about a thread giving equivalents which have been found to be up to standard but avoid the marine label and charges?
Volvo Penta come to mind as a sore point.
Our MD2020 (about 2004)has a scratched out Perkins label attached to the block showing its origin. What would be the industrial Perkins oil and fuel filter references? I am sure a local motor factor would be a lot cheaper than VP.
Would there be good value buys for the marinised parts such as the impellor anywhere?
Other overpriced parts would include winch handles, toilet service kits and as many as you wish to list.

Easy to get alternative replacement filters. However, there is little money to be saved, first because they are not expensive items and second the manufacturers keep prices down on that type of item knowing that there are generic replacements available.
