Service or replace cooker?

My SMEV cooker is 16 years old and looks great but is performing poorly with low pressure and regular cut outs of the oven burner. Is it worth servicing cookers or is it best to just replace with new? We are keeping the boat long term.

I had my 20 year old one serviced a year ago. As good as new now.

Service cost was £120.

For me it would come to the difference between a service and a new one.

My 30 year old cooker is going strong.

Ditto. Mine’s a geriatric Plastimo Atlantic. I was thinking of taking it apart, re-spraying it and fitting it with new flame failure cut-off burners (if possible). The cost of new marine cookers is extortionate.

If I remember correctly there was a company near the Solent that specialised in refurbishing cookers. Perhaps someone could put a name to the company ?
