Advice please regarding service intervals on Kad 32's . Full service this time last year, only done 70 hrs since then , is a full service required again , just an oil change or nothing at all ?

The service interval is 200 hrs with basic checks inbetween, i.e. impellor, belts. This usually equates to one service a year with average usage, if you don't make it to 200 hrs in a season then I would recomend at least changing the oil and filters including diesel filters at the end of every season, then you know that the engine has clean oil in it while it sits over the winter months instead of dirty oil full of nasty byproducts. Also it is IMPERATIVE that you check and adjust the valves at 200 hrs and you should also change the compressor oil (dead easy). And don't forget the drive, the oil should also be changed once a year this way you can check if any water has got in ( not unknown on Volvo drives) the bellows should also be changed at not more than 2 yr intervals although again for the cost we change them annually its cheaper than a new universal joint! It pays to do the checks even if you don't think you have done enough hours as I have often discovered problems i.e. water in drives or bellows that the customer had no idea about and its cheaper if you catch it early.
My advice is although boat servicing seems expensive it buys you peace of mind when you are out there with the wife and kids and its cheaper than the repair bill for major assemblies that have been neglected.
