1/ Mooring a boat on fixed lines when the River is going up and down like a Gigolo's butt.

2/ Leaving your outboard hanging off the stern of your boat all Winter.

3/ Take your 0.15bhp Rowing boat out on the strongest possible of streams during the wettest month for many decades.


Seriously? Is the Thames inhabited by idiots? Even before I had a boat, I would not have entertained any of the above. Please do not expect me to show any signs of empathy whilst posting this sort of stuff.

Agree. Not helpful. River dwellers are having a very hard and complicated time at the moment. And by "moment" I mean the last 2 months. Anyway, we are f'ing off to the Caribbean for a couple of weeks and handing the waders over to house sitters. Full stocks of food, logs, wine, beer, cat litter and condoms. They will be fine.
