Serious corrosion of ENO cooker \'burner cap\'

My ENO cooker's burner cap (that's the flat plate over the burner crown ring) has developed a hole in the vitreous enamel top and it is corroding (rusting) rapidly downwards at an astonishing speed. I assume that it is the heat and moisture. I can order spares from the Calor Centre but it is going to be quite difficult to get them here to Rome and in any case they are £22 each plus p&p and I was considering replacing the cooker later this year.

Can anyone suggest a treatment that will stop the corrosion? High temperature epoxy? Some metallic finish? Chemical passivation? Please bear in mind that this component gets VERY hot, several 100C, I think, and we don't want toxic or unpleasant fumes in the cabin.

Many thanks.

no idea, but if you find them in "bulk" send me a PM, because I need some as well /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
