I built a series drogue from a kit I bought from Bryan. I put it together watching tv one winter. They are not too expensive nor do they take up a lot of space. I did the research and came to the conclusion that it was a very worthwhile investment. My boat is quite light displacement and like any boat its a compromise between a lot of factors. The light displacement is one factor that might compromise my boat in a big sea. I feel that having the series drogue in the locker gives me an extra degree of safety when I venture offshore and makes my boat far more versatile.
I think concept of a series of small drogues rather than one large one is excellent.
I feel that the series drogue has huge potential as an essential piece of offshore safety equipment.
