First post on forum - but have been a closet reader for a long time!

I posted this question two weeks ago and it did not seem to appear for a week or so - had to go through mods - but I'm not sure time just moved on and no-one saw it - I would be grateful if anyone could answer my question.

Do all older marinised diesel engines use the same thread size for temperature and pressure senders?

I'm not sure what the thread size is on my 1980 Peugeot DTP-62 (also known as an Indenor DTP-62 or Volvo Penta MD21A) despite trying to read the engraved figures on the collar of the existing senders. Both the original senders are single station senders and I want to change them to dual station senders.

A friend advised me to order 1/8" NPT senders, and use an adapter or bushing kit to fit it to my engine. Is this a good solution?

I have he original owner instruction manual for the engine but the thread size for both senders is not listed within the manual.

More likely I would think to be metric threads than American.

Take them out and measure the diameter and thread pitch. Also note if they are tapered or parallel.
