Selva 'Piranha' 9.9 H.P…Any good?

4-stroke at just 30kgs for £1200…too good to be true? Anybody tried it or own one?
My old Tohatsu 9.9 2-stroke would make my RIB plane with 2 people in, I wonder if this has enough grunt?

I just bought one - then quickly returned it.

Like you, I thought it was too good to be true.

Power wise, it will enable you to plane with 2 (possibly 3) people aboard 3 mtr inflatable.

I sent it back because :

1) it had an oil leak
2) it cavitated badly when close to top speed / revs
3) it was an absolute pig to start (not a issue if you have electric start)

I bought a 5hp Honda instead which will enable me to plane (if calm) with 2 people aboard. It's a great little engine, enough power for most situations, easy to start..........and it's a Honda.
