Hi All,

Long time! Iam selling my sailing yacht - 38ft. (but getting bigger and better ;-)
It's going up with the broker soon, but can anyone provide me of other alternatives to try and sell her quickly?

Magizaines/sites - boats and out boards etc.
I'd imagine this has been discussed before but can't find anything.

I sold mine by creating an internet site and linking to it from free sites like Boats and Outboards. Lots and lots of high quality pictures and a thorough description/spec.

Tell everyone you meet that says anything about a boat that you have one for sale. Worked for me. I sold it to someone who already had a boat under refit, but wanted to sail NOW.

I would agree with creating your own website. I paid quite a lot of money for adverts when selling my last boat and had loads of timewasters, but the person who came along with the money found me through my website.

I think it is overt selling that annoys people, particularly if you don't have a history of participating in the forum.

Right now, a number of forumites have discrete links in their signature, which I think is acceptable as long as they are a proper contributor to the forum, which they are.

(I'm dying to get a WHOLE boat on there). Totally free and gets a fair bit of traffic. The log in is required I'm afraid, because it's free and otherwise I could end up with all sorts of stuff on there.
