I need to sell my 2 month old 4hp Mercury long shaft OB.

Can I put the full details in a thread on the Thames Forum or is this a no no?

It's worth more than the maximum £ allowed in the For Sale section of the main YBW.com forum so can't put it there.

Just thought that you Thames users might like first refusal ready for next season :).

I think you have answered your own question, if it exceeds the stated amount (400 quid) then ebay or other sites are your friend...
 
I think you have already achieved your mission here :o

Do the same on the 'For Sale' section, and it'll sell in minutes IMHO.

Everything i offer seems to get paid for within an hour :eek:
 
Other people have placed overpriced adverts and sold before the thread was removed.

I couldn't recommend you try the same...:D
 
Why Thames?

Not sure why you might think it very suitable to Thames users.
A bit small to push my 10 ton Broom even at Thames speeds.
More likely of interest as tender power for a coastal bod.
Not sure that even with 20 minutes use it would command a £100 discount. Haven't you heard? There is a recession.

I would beg to differ:D nearly every Broom I see on the Thames has a regulation small outboard mounted on the back at least 4ft clear of the water with a small rubber craft mounted nearby, both normaly clock up at least 20 minutes running a year, usually from the Booms at Henley to the Town and back.

Last time I looked at the marinas on the Thames, not every boat was 10 tons plus. In fact, I'd even say that there's a healthy quota of sub 20' boats all with outboards of varying sizes and ages.

Why suitable for Thames users? Because I live very near the Thames and within 40 minutes of all the big marinas so if someone was interested, they could always pop in and see the OB next time they were at their boat.

4hp four stroke would make an ideal tender engine and as Chris said, lots of boats have tenders.
