Time has come to change boats and so unless someone here wants to buy a 36 footer set up for short handed I need to find the best online sites . Not being too keen to pay the extortionate commission that brokers seem to want for not a lot of effort, the way ahead may be online. I used to have an array of sites but all was lost in a computer crash!! Any input as to sites would be welcome. Of course if you want to buy the boat send me a pm!!

as the limit on the selling forum is £200, yes please /forums/images/icons/smile.gif seriously, there are a number of places, which others who may have experience would be better to report. I have had good success with dinghies at here and they have a good selection of larger craft, so may well be a good place to start.

Be a bit careful of this site. I recently sold and outboard with no problems, but ended up getting lots of spam e mail and also virus laden e mail. I don't think it's their fault, just the fact that your e mail address can go into the public domain.

Good idea. it would be useful to have a stock of disposable e mail addresses for things like that.

When I was buying a boat the site I always looked at was http://www.boats-for-sale.com/ they have a huge selection of boats in an easily searched database. I think you'll find this is the site with the most visitors by far.

Boats and Outboards isn't really in the same league when it comes to the top end of the market.

it only takes 5 mins to set up a hotmail account and it is deleted after 1 month's inactivity. just remember to uncheck the 'put address in hotmail directory' box or you'll drown in spam.

These may be of interest.

http://www.boatshed.com/forsale.php - good for pictures.

http://www.myboatdetails.com/ Bought mine via this one.

http://www.easternyachts.com

http://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/ - another with good pics

For e-mail spam pick up, you could also try,
If you place your e-mail in an ad, include an "X" in it, with instructions to remove it.
This stops the automated pick up.
If your with BT you can create temporary mails for suspect spam sites. Check the homepage.

easy - I've posted this before
http://www.spamgourmet.com/ Sign up, and you can use as many 'disposable' email addresses as you want, that will forward to your main email, then self destruct after a set number of forwarded emails

Hi Anthony. Check out EasternYachts.com - they have different categories and it is a quality website. Adrian Espin is really helpful and I sold my last boat through his site. You can put in as much info as you want and loads of pics. Visit the site and you'll see what I mean. Good luck.
