Self Steering Wind Gear

Have posted a self steering wind vane on ebay item number 4615035521.

Never sure if it is considered ok on this foru to post like this but have seen a few people do it. What is the general consensus? If it is bad form the I won't do it again

I guess it's a bit of a mute point, but it's an interesting item... Would one of these be suitable for a 35' steel sloop with a wheel?
