Can anyone help? does self eroding anti-foul have to be removed before a new coat is applied? or can you just slap it on all over?
thanks for your advice

I hope you slap it over the old!

I just completed mine that way with some excrutiatingly expensive "Awlgrip". Happened to be what had been used before and seemed to work well.

Re: Slap it on

The tins say it must be marvellously clean, and give humidity rating and all done in 4.5 minutes at x temperature else no guarantee.

But, once vaguely cleaned up, you can just slap it on. Using a roller on a stick and it's dead quick, and cheap brush for fiddly bits, chuck brush at end. Mask tape first of course.

The important thing is to get it done in the morning . Then you can have lunch in the pub and not have to "get back to it, come on..."

All I ever do is stipp off any loose bits, put on a coat of primer as I don't always buy the same brand each year and slap on two coats - on the river it lasts 2 - 3 years.

Happy slapping :)
