I’m going to replace my 12mm double braid polyester reefing lines with 10mm double braid dyneema.
The original lines are attached to the cars via an sewn eye with heavy duty heat shrink wrapping- see photo.
Options for the replacement are.
1. Full eye splice- so far I’ve failed to eye splice double braid dyneema so this may not be realistic!
2. Core only eye splice. This is easy but I still need to sew and whip the cover in place.
3. Bowline or Halyard knot.
4. Sewn and whipped eye.
There must be many out there who’ve done this- what did you do?
